〈몰리에르 희극 영어로 읽기1 _ 엠피테리온〉
암피트리옹은 프롤로그와 몰리에르의 3막으로 된 프랑스 코미디로, 그리스 신화의 인물 암피트리온의 이야기를 바탕으로 한 작품이다. 기원전 190-185년 연극은 1668년 1월 13일 파리의 팔레 루아얄 극장에서 초연되었다. 일부에서는 몰리에르가 목성의 모습으로 프랑스의 루이 14세의 정사를 비판하고 있다고 주장하면서 극을 둘러싸고 스캔들이 들끓었다. 3일 후 루이 14세의 면전에서 튈르리 정원에서 다시 공연되었다.
Amphitryon is a French comedy in three acts with a prologue and Moli?re, based on the story of Amphitrion, a character in Greek mythology. The play of 190-185 BC was premiered on 13 January 1668 at the Palais Royal in Paris. A scandal erupted over the play, with some claiming that Moli?re was criticizing the love affair of Louis XIV of France in the form of Jupiter. Three days later, it was performed again in the Tuileries Gardens in the presence of Louis XIV.
