Electra는 소포클레스의 그리스 비극이다. 그 연대는 알려져 있지 않지만 필록테테스(기원전 409년) 및 콜로노스의 오이디푸스(기원전 401년)와의 다양한 문체 유사성으로 인해 책이 소포클레스의 생애 말기에 쓰여진 것으로 추정된다.
트로이 전쟁 후 몇 년 후 아르고스 시를 배경으로 하는 이 희곡은 클리타임네스트라와 양아버지 아이기스토스가 아버지 아가멤논을 살해한 사건을 두고 엘렉트라와 그녀의 형 오레스테스가 정의를 위한 격렬한 투쟁을 전달한다.
Electra is the Greek tragedy of Sophocles. Its date is unknown, but various stylistic similarities with Philoctetes (409 BC) and Oedipus of Colonus (401 BC) suggest that the book was written at the end of Sophocles' life.
Set in the city of Argos a few years after the Trojan War, this play tells the story of Clytemnestra and her adoptive father Aegisthus murdering her father Agamemnon, while Electra and her older brother Orestes fight for justice.
