Rose in Bloom은 1876년에 출판된 Louisa May Alcott의 소설이다. 이 소설은 사회에서 자신의 길을 찾는 19세기 소녀 Rose Campbell의 이야기이다. 올콧의 여덟 사촌의 속편이다.
루이자 M. 올컷(Louisa May Alcott )은 미국의 소설가다. 펜실베이니아에서 태어났으나 56세로 사망할 때까지 생애의 대부분을 보스턴과 콩코드에서 보냈다.가정 형편 때문에 배우 지망과 결혼을 단념하고 일찍부터 집안살림을 도우며 가계를 꾸려나갔다. 올컷은 생계를 위해 교사나 하녀 등의 직업을 전전했고 남북전쟁 때에는 간호병을 자원해 일하기도 했다. 천부적인 문학적 재능을 살려 잡지나 신문에 글을 기고하던 중 1863년 발표한 〈병원 스케치〉가 주목을 받았다. 이후 남북전쟁 당시의 후방인 뉴잉글랜드의 가정을 묘사한 《작은 아씨들》로 큰 성공을 거두었고 그 외에 30여 편의 소녀소설을 썼다.

Rose in Bloom is a novel by Louisa May Alcott published in 1876. This novel is the story of Rose Campbell, a 19th century girl who finds her own way in her society. It is the sequel to Alcott's Eight Cousins.
Louisa M. Alcott is an American novelist. She was born in Pennsylvania, but spent most of her life in Boston and Concord, until she died at the age of 56. Her family circumstances gave up her desire to become an actress and marriage, and she left her family at an early age. He helped her manage her household. Allcott worked as a teacher and maid for her livelihood, and during the Civil War she volunteered as a nurse. She made use of her innate literary talent and contributed articles to magazines and newspapers, and her 〈Hospital Sketch〉 published in 1863 caught her attention. She later had great success with Little Women, which portrayed her rear-end New England family during the Civil War, and wrote about 30 other girls' novels.
요약

Summary
Her story begins as Rose returns home from her long trip to Europe. Everyone has changed. Rose, she jokes, puts her seven cousins in a row and watches them for a long time, just like she did when they first met. Her youngest child, Jamie, casually mentions that her aunts want her Rose to marry one of her cousins in order to keep her family's fortune. She is very resentful because Rose decided on her own ideas about the future. From the start, she declares that she can manage her own fortune on her own and will focus on her philanthropy, and Charlie, with her mother's approval, decides that she will take his place.
