Summary
Quirt Creek lazily flowed between graceful willows across deeper pools or rushed into the pool below from July to October. For more than a mile, in a saucer-shaped valley on a low hill, where the ground lay fairly flat, the mud surrounding the pool was deeply gouged by the tracks of cows "up and down TJ." Hunter & Johnson's double monogram was called.
The herds running up and down the TJ never seemed to grow beyond 300 animals. The Quirt Ranch is older than its neighbor, the Sawtooth Cattle Company.
