Brigadier General Straut, wearing one star, is investigating a large, unidentified object that crash-landed at the edge of the forest. His men report hearing intermittent noises coming from inside the object.
Brigadier General Straut, reporting to Washington and working toward a second star, heads to the site to examine the object for himself. He discovers that there is a thin line-like crack in the object, and the line suddenly opens wide, causing an accident in which a soldier crashes into a tree and dies.
Brigadier General Straut orders his soldiers to stand down and approaches the object alone. Then, the brigadier general, who saw a huge red claw-like thing appear on top of the object and fumble around, fires a pistol to defeat the claw, but an angry scream comes from inside...
