“Martians, Keep Out!” by Fritz Leiber is a science fiction novel set on a future Earth. The main character, Jonas Scatterday, is a journalist who fights for the rights of Martians. He takes over a media outlet called Newsbeam in a town called Bronsco, and fights against prejudice against Martians. The story shows a society where Martians are treated like slaves. Scatterday works with a Martian named Click-Click, and is at odds with local mine owner Kemmerdygn. They broadcast content defending the rights of the Martians and try to escape the Martians to an Antarctic sanctuary. Eventually, the Martians in the Ten Mile mines go on strike, which causes Kemmerdygn to support Scatterday. The novel addresses topics such as racism, labor rights, and freedom of speech.
