Javert, unable to reconcile Valjean’s mercy with his rigid sense of justice, ends his life in despair. Marius and Cosette prepare for marriage, stepping into domestic life while facing hidden tensions. Marius learns of Valjean’s past and distances himself, but unease lingers. Valjean begins to retreat from life, silently preparing for farewell. A dreamlike wedding occurs, yet Valjean's loneliness deepens. No one truly grasps his pain as he quietly fades away. Love and sacrifice fall out of balance, and a calm darkness begins to descend.
