The project advances with scientific calculations and international funding, leading to the construction of the massive Columbiad cannon in Stone's Hill, Florida. Barbicane's rival, Captain Nicholl, and French adventurer Michel Ardan join the endeavor, navigating conflicts and collaborations. Ultimately, the three men decide to embark together in the projectile aimed at the Moon.
