Quatermain and his companions reveal Umbopa’s true identity and prepare for battle leading to a fierce confrontation with Twala that determines the kingdom’s fate. After the climactic struggle Umbopa claims his throne as Ignosi and a new order replaces tyranny. The explorers reach Solomon’s treasure chamber only to discover that immense wealth is shadowed by mortal danger. Illness and despair nearly trap them within the cavern until an unexpected chance for escape appears. They finally return with treasure and survival secured carrying memories of friendship conflict and the cost of ambition.
