The second half develops the consequences of earlier choices as conflicts intensify and Francesca’s carefully constructed ambitions begin to clash with reality while Comus continues to resist social expectations and becomes increasingly constrained and throughout the narrative irony and cynicism deepen revealing the limits of social structures and the true nature of human relationships as the tension between personal desire and societal norms becomes more pronounced leading the story toward inevitable and unsettling outcomes.
