As a British judge and his sister-in-law Lady Cicely travel through Morocco they hire the enigmatic smuggler Brassbound as their guide who is secretly the judge’s nephew seeking revenge for past wrongs yet as events unfold and tensions rise Lady Cicely’s influence begins to challenge his intentions leading to a transformation in the conflict while themes of law versus justice and revenge versus forgiveness intensify and through a series of confrontations and shifting perspectives the characters are forced to reconsider their beliefs ultimately moving toward a resolution shaped by empathy and moral change.
